I have worked with The Career Center, located at Cross County Center in Yonkers, NY, where I got my first teaching job June 2002. Mr. William Fleshel gave me the opportunity to implement my knowledge become an actual experience. I felt a great sense of accomplishment. Especially, when I signed my first certificate for a student. Mr. William Fleshel is my hero and the best mentor ever. Today he served many people.

I took the excel course and it was absolutely excellent! The teacher was perhaps more proficient than any college professor that I took computer classes with in the past. He was very patient, and made sure everybody was on the same page before moving on. He was also very comprehensible, as he used many well-applied metaphors to personify excel in a way that helped me understand exactly what excel's "thought process" is, and how to get the most out of it.
If I had taken this class earlier, it may have saved me hours worth of work on projects that took me months to complete. Looking forward to taking the next level course soon.

I took SQL Level 1-3 which was presented in a way which was easy and good to understand. Peter our instructor might have his quirks and his own kind of teaching style but he very well could make the material accessible for all students. He repeated important elements over and over so it had to stick and also kept us engaged with questions and excercises.
The books and printed material are good and come in handy if you wanna look up something (offline;) later. Career Centers also lets you retake the classes for up to one year if it did not sink in the first time, or you need a refresh, but i doubt you will need it, they do a good job here.

The Microsoft Excel Level 1 Course was very valuable. The instructor, Mike, was very patient and easy to learn from. He took time to walk through each step and made sure the entire class understood before moving on. I'd recommend Mike and The Career Center to others looking to further their knowledge in Excel.

Mke Green was an absolutely wonderful teacher who is obviously an expert in both Microsoft word and excel. He was able to explain difficult concepts in an understandable manner and gave me a real confidence boost in only a day's worth of teaching instruction. I recommend Mr. Green to any pupil who wants to learn either complicated or simple Microsoft concepts quickly and in a relaxed atmosphere.

The Career Center offers excellent trainings and room rentals at fair prices for Manhattan. I have been a very satisfied customer for several years. Cindy is always helpful, accommodating and personable. I have never had any issues with technical setup. The facility is always super clean and they provide wonderful refreshments.

I took MS Access level 1&2 classes there. Classes last a day rom 9-5. I had Peter as my instructor for both of my classes. He is very good and knowledgeable. Other than just teaching things right off the book he expands and extends his examples to some very practical day to day business problems and solutions to them. The instructor did set the teaching pace based on our needs and was willing to stop for any questions in between in order to keep everyone on track. Hands-on experience is a huge plus.
It helps you strengthen your memory. The choice of classroom size varies depending on how many people are enrolled in that class. Because of its location, it's very easy to get to and there are many lunch choices.

I was sent here by my job to learn both level 1 & level 2 SQL courses. Easy to get to from Queens but not too many places to get a grab a bite to eat. I saw about 4 Starbucks within a 5 block range which was insane but given the area you need your caffeine fix with short lines. The instructor Peter was great, he took his time and explain Sequel to my non-analytical brain.
Both classes only had 2 students and they only have 5 people max per class. Classes are like a full day at from, they are from 9-5pm with a 15 minute morning break, one hour lunch break and finally another 15 minute afternoon break. The rooms are really small and uncomfortable, no place to hang your coats but they do have a small fridge that offers all types of sodas and water and a coffee machine. Three stars for the instructor and convenience to get to but the missing 2 stars for the size of the rooms and lack of comfort.

Ultimate Verdict? I recommend this course. 5 Stars for the instructor (Jeanette) and 3 stars for the facilities (small, run down). I was the only one in my class with Zero SQL experience and my instructor took care of me while not totally dragging the class down. I'll be back to TCC. I just wish the desks had a little more room. And hey! Free cokes, diet cokes, water and coffee! Course: SQL Level 1 Instructor: Jeanette.
She was great. She really knows her stuff. 5 stars for her. The Class: 5 students The Room: Small desks. Im a pretty big guy but since there was only five of us, I had enough room. That said, if the room was full it would've been very cramped and too close for comfort. They do offer free coffee, coke, diet coke and bottled water though which was a nice bonus.
The COMPARE with PACE: I've taken two classes at Pace University in Midtown (Bookkeeping and Quick Books). This was my first at TCC. Pace has cleaner and roomier facilities without a doubt. But for me, it ultimately comes down to the instructors. What did I learn? My TCC instructor, Jeanette, was excellent. Of my two instructors at Pace, one was on par with Jeanette, and was was below par with Jeanette.
I learned a ton and Jeanette was great. The desks are tiny, though, and I would've been miserable if there had been a full room. Furthermore, the facilities in general are run down. Look, I'm not expecting the Ritz, but would a carpet cleaning and a fresh coat of paint hurt anyone?

I attended their Excel v2010 classes levels 2 & 3. Each class was one day and taught by two different instructors. Both instructors knew the product inside and out. They started both classes by asking the students how they intended to use the product and tailored the class accordingly. They used the curriculum as a guide but also taught their own real world professional experience to meet the students needs.
They answered every question and made sure you understood each feature and formula. I have attended classes at other training facilities and this was by far my best experience. I didn't feel like I was overpaying for material I would never use, or waste time in a class of 25 people. I would highly recommend Career Center. You get what you need, without paying high prices.

SPAM ALERT! I took one class with them 3 days ago and have received 25+ emails and a phone call to my personal cel phone during business hours to ask me to sign up for more classes. I've marked 3 different emails as SPAM and they just keep emailing me from different addresses. Businesses that provide great service do not need to do things like this.
As far as the class went, I thought it was fine. It was for HTML. My teacher was a little disorganized and was not very good at answering questions (got distracted and answered things I didn't ask but that were also helpful), but I did learn a lot. I am interested in taking a more advanced class and it would have made sense to do it at the same school but to avoid further harassment, I will be taking the class at another school.

I went to the career center to brush up on my Illustrator skills. I thought the instructor was very nice and was willing to answer any questions I had. The computers and handbook that was given out were a great help for practicing at home and good for note taking while your learning. I thought the people were VERY sweet and the pricing was the best I could find. I would def recommend the Career Center to friends!

I took the Career Center beginners Photoshop class and really enjoyed it. The class was small enough to feel comfortable asking questions and to feel like you were getting personalized attention. The instructor was very clear and patient with those of us who had never touched Photoshop before yet able to keep the class moving when sometimes you get those people who ask waaaaaaay too many questions. It's a long day, so you really get your money's worth and you get a good take-home booklet with other exercises to practice so you don't forget what you learned. My one suggestion for improvement - because it's a long day the coffee could be better. But I guess you're paying for the information, not for Starbucks. :-

I went to the career center to brush up on my Excel skills. I read through all the levels of Excel courses offered and decided that level two made the most sense for me to take. At the beginning of the class the instructed asked us about what we were particularly interested in learning to make sure to hit on those items throughout the day. The course is from 9-5, which sounds super long, but you're busy so you don't even notice it.
I would and have recommended the career center to friends and colleagues. It is good for people that need to brush up on an existing skill as well as learn entirely new ones.

I took a two day Excel course here a few weeks ago. The Good I learned some new tricks The class was very small The facilities/computer were more than adequate The Bad The instructor was not what I'd call 'exciting' Trying to learn on noisy Madison Ave is difficult You can tell this place is sub. by the state.it has that vibe The Ugly The doorman in the lobby of this building is an asshole.he will literally yell at you if you forget to sign in Bottom Line: I'm glad my company paid for the class. If I'd paid for it myself I would have been more disappointed with the experience
