I took the Security Plus course in class at the Greenbelt location. They did not release the book (training material) until the day you arrive. Then we covered 5 chapters the first day. The instructor said "You need to read the book". This means you are already 5 chapters behind on day 1. You spend the first night reading the next four chapters to be ready for your class the next day.
You continue this process for the rest of the week trying to fit in the the first 5 chapters you missed on day one. The instructor sent a link for the slides used in the training. They are the same slides used for the CompTIA study guide that is provided from CompTIA. In other words, they did you no favors yet again. They do not even supply a notepad or even a pen.
The practice questions and exams are from the CompTIA logon they sign you up for. It appears, they sign you up for the CompTIA learning information, and then just provide a 40 hour lecture of the material. Unless you have a photographic memory, providing training this way will not have you anywhere close to being ready to take the certification test.
You are speed reading trying to prepare for the next day. You can't spend any time actually studying the material that was presented to you that day. The location was fine. They had nice rooms and equipment, though there was nothing for our class. It was 40 hours of lecture only. They state they provide the training materials. That consists of nothing more than the info directly from CompTIA.
Don't expect anything more than that. The only plus I heard, was that you can take the coarse, if there are seats available, again for no cost. Testing vouchers were not supplied upon completion. I don't claim to know how they work, but I would think they would have provided some information about them. I spoke with most the other students who were in class.
They all stated the same that this was not what they though it was going to be like. They relayed to me that they did not feel it was worth the cost as they need to find other avenues for test preparation afterwards. In all, I would not recommend them. They have some pluses, like facility and location, but if you are expecting a week long coarse that prepares you to take the test shortly after completion of this, then look elsewhere.
I realize it is a lot of information to digest in a week, but there where very few pointers given to know "this" information in order to pass the exam provided. This is why the book should have been provided prior to showing up with a strong recommendation to read it prior to showing up for training in the fashion that they do. I imagine if I was able to take practice questions at night instead of reading the material for the next day I might have left with a better idea of the subject upon completion.

Terrible experience on my behalf. I waited for the new version of certifications to come out to ensure my schooling would be up to date. Despite waiting for the newest course to come out, paying all the money, showing up, being on time etc. I was given an OUTDATED training manual, the old version, WITH typos. I reached out to comptia themselves because of the short comings and was told that my book(that was sold to me by train ace) was outdated, had been for some time and wasn't assembled by them was assembled by GTs learning(who doesn't have much contact info) one thing I do like is they give you course retakes, but does it really help if your training manual is bad?
My professor when I brought this up to him(the information that's inaccurate) he basically said that yea that's wrong and that book shouldn't be used really as a reference point. Not to mention the professor I had was extremely tired every day, so tired he could barely complete the course, we got out early everyday, and would ramble. about his experiences. For the price it's lack luster to me.

I took a training program through TrainACE to attempt an advanced level certification that I needed to jumpstart my career and open new doors for myself professionally. The instruction I received at TrainACE increased my chances for success when I challenged the exam (which I passed). The teacher provided quality instruction of theoretical information as well as facilitated practical application of hands on exposure to labs- and did it in a manner that engaged the more experienced students in the class, as well as those with less experience.
All of this further ensured a passing score. Because of the excellent customer service I received I would recommend anyone to come to this institution of learning where a student can start from square 1 and go into the stratosphere if they have the time because TrainACE DEFINITELY has the quality! I WILL be back!

TrainACE = an Exercise in Frustration, Not Education. Trying to train with TrainACE was a nightmare. I paid $3000 to take two IT classes ($2495 + 500 for the second class) in early 2020. The first class, CASP, was a July-run and taught well enough--though the hours did not approximate those hours offered. The second class, PMP, was scheduled by TrainACE's Ryan for several weeks later--and then dropped without notification.
I found this quite annoying, as before the class started, I'd taken time off of work just to take this class. Foul 1. Ryan apologized and rescheduled. On Sep 7th, the reschedule date, "Day-of" emails of "Where do I log in/How?" went unresponded to--which, however, also had happened when their CASP class DID run (their promise is to provide you class login information the day prior to class start.
This has never happened once; for most people, I assume that this means you would expect to get this notice via email on Sunday). That email never came for the class that DID start, so I thought little of it for my PMP class that did NOT start. TrainACE: "Oops!". Yeah, right. Foul 2. Over the phone and via apologies, Ryan told me of another date approximately 1.5 months later that PMP would start. Oct 26th. Insisting that I was registered, I marked it on my calendar, and again took PTO with my employer for four days.
This time--I got an email verification of Class Start with the magic word "Confirmation" right on it! Yeah! It's on! I should have noted the trend when, the day before I'd gotten no email (batting 0% now, folks!), AND the day of--no class started.again. Emails don't work as I've learned, but I sent one anyway to express "wth?". 09:10 rolls around, and I was back on the phone with.the manager, John, who blamed computer problems.
Guess what? Third time's a charm, folks. It can't possibly be that hard to keep up a Calendar. How does a company that specializes in training professionals in multiple manner, to include Project Management, NOT know how to keep their own calendar? I was not notified of any of THREE cancelations? Confirmation emails don't matter? There are software sets that one can purchase to help with client scheduling called CRM, etc. The TrainACE company is deficient in multiple ways, they refuse to accept lessons-learned and modernize; and I can't afford to pay for it.

This review is for the testing center portion of this company. I've taken at least 4 proctored exams (Pearson Vue) at this facility. The testing room is small but a few times I've been the only person there, which is really nice. Checking in has always been quick and efficient. If I've arrived early I can start right away. I never bring in anything other than what is necessary, but I don't know if they have lockers for your possessions if you do.
The woman at the front desk is very polite and helpful. The testing room is mostly quiet but you can hear people talking in the halls and other rooms, and if there's a training class going on, you can definitely hear it. Bring ear plugs to help drown out noises.

I recently attended training at ACE to get ready for the Security+ certification exam. The team at ACE were very professional and helpful from beginning to the end. The instructor was very knowledgeable about the material and related the course and teachings to real life situations which made comprehending the material that much easier. After I take and pass my Security+ certification exam I plan on enrolling back at ACE for the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) course they offer. Training at ACE is sure to help me accomplish my career goals! Thank you Thomas B and team! R.Santos 2014

The over experience at TrainACE was phenomenal from the classes to conversing with office personnel. As rehabilitation counselor, I came to TrainACE hoping to change my career path and I did just that!. I took the combined A+/Network+ course with an awesome professor Mr. O. His teaching methods, instructions, and labs were easy to follow and understand for technical and non-technical persons. As a result, I passed and received my A+ and Network + certifications and was able to change my career path. Thanks TrainACE!

CASP class is not recommended. TrainACE is not ready to teach this class. Book doesn't reflect exam material. There is no logic connecting chapters in the book. questions given in class doesnt have explanations - memorizing brain dumps, was not my goal in class. I came for knowledge - they are not ready.

This was hands-down the best learning experience I have had. I took the 40 hour class for the CCNA and felt prepared and confident to advance in my career as an IT professional. My instructor made sure that everyone in the class understood the material but more importantly how to use the equipment in the lab. He was able to teach without regurgitating from the book by using real life experience.
The school itself truly wants its students to succeed and even let me sit on the class for a second time to make sure I was prepared for my test. One of the best investments I have made in myself and can't wait to take another class at ACE!

I recently attended ACE for a Microsoft Certification course. I can't say enough good things about this institution. First, their location is very friendly for anyone in DC, Maryland, or Northern Virginia who may want to add to their career skills. They are located right off the Beltway and it couldn't be more convenient. I found their staff to be some of the most accommodating people that I have ever encountered.
You are paying them to take a course at their facility but they never treat you as just another client. I felt like they were truly invested in my success and wanted to help me reach my career goals. They keep track of you and follow up even after your course is over to make sure you are fully satisfied with your experience. I've passed 2 of my 3 Microsoft Certification exams with flying colors and I am taking my third soon. ACE will prepare you for a career in IT and you will walk out of their facility feeling confident and inspired by your potential career opportunities. Thanks again ACE for all that you provided me. I was blown away by my experience.

Best kept secret in IT I attended ACE in the summer of 2007 for classes to prepare me for A+ and Network+ certification examinations. My goal was to learn the basics about computing and these classes definitely allowed me to reach that goal. Their hands on approach to learning about computers and how they work has definitely taught me a lot for the short time that I was there.
It was a bit pricey since I didn't use financial assistance (which they do offer) but it was well worth the money I paid and I don't regret paying for any of it. The fact that its also a CompTIA examination site, also won me over. The concepts and skills I learned from ACE make going there one of the best decisions that I've ever made but I only wish more people in my field knew about it. Well, consider this one of many ways of me getting the word out about them. Keep up the good work!
