The Computer Language Company Inc. was founded in 1978 by husband-wife team Alan Freedman and Irma Morrison. When Freedman couldn't find a computer dictionary that would meaningfully augment the computer literacy classes he taught to Fortune 500 companies, he set out on a quest to purchase his first computer and write this "glaringly missing" reference.
With more experience writing a computer encyclopedia than any living soul, Alan Freedman can help you understand your IT people and make more sense out of this confusing industry. Or, if you like the way our desktop and mobile versions are designed, let Alan help you design an interface that your users will love.
Our Android app follows in the footsteps of our iPhone app and includes all the text for instant lookup. More than 40,000 cross references. The most successful computer dictionary in print, our first book was in 1980 and our last in 2001. Tech moves too fast for print.
